Welcome to gleams! This is the plan...

gleams is an RSS/OPML/JSON feed publishing and aggregation platform and possibly, a content network. The intention for the glea.ms homepage is to display curated content from the network and/or from any RSS source added by users. Their will be a faster moving real-time content stream to skim located at glimps.es. Plans for a #hashtag handler will live at hashtag.to. The experimental Ingesture API may be integrated to provide various social gesture handling.

Integrations of app.net, fluidinfo and tent are being considered as well. But RSS is the core open protocol.

Some things that you can do on this platform:

Create multiple Feeds (RSS/blogs), Rivers (OPML/Reading Lists), Users and Sites (domain mapping) with RSS, OPML and JSON outputs for everything
Create Podcasts and filesharing feeds (upload media files via web or as email attachments)
Post via Email with SMS 2-factor authentication
Secret MMS features
IndieWeb friendly
Sell stuff with Stripe integration
Add Replies/Comments to posted items (Disqus API and inReplyTo Namespace)

You can setup your own instance of gleams on this server. After you modify your domain's DNS records to resolve to this server, you can proceed to create your site. Just create an A Record that points to 50.116.60.137
